Dean Retires After 40 Years At Sheffield
Thursday 18th July 2019
Long-serving employee, Dean Bradshaw has retired after 40 years at Sherwood Truck and Van.
He began as an apprentice in 1979 when the company was called Phillip’s Truck Services and rose through the ranks to become general manager.
Working at Sherwood has been extra special for Dean as he met his wife Dawn while she was working as a switchboard operator. The couple got married in 1986.
Dean describes the feeling of retiring after 40 years with Sherwood: “I have really enjoyed working in the truck business and when I started I didn’t imagine that I’d spend all of my career with one business. Sherwood has been a very supportive employer and has been a huge part of my life professionally as well as personally.”
Sherwood has created a working environment that allowed Dean to thrive and progress throughout the business.
Robert Spittle, Managing Director praises Dean and the team: “A lot of our success comes from the loyalty and commitment of our staff across all of our branches. The family ethos is important and I think it makes our product stronger.
“We all wish Dean a very happy retirement. I would expect that he will probably be busier than ever.”
