Sherwood Secure Order From Brit European With Hands-On Approach 

Leading transporter company Brit European are the proud new owners of four Stralis AS440S46TXP tractor units, thanks to Jeremy Hulme, Business Development Manager at our Stoke site. 

For Brit European rear boggie axle weights are very important, along with the critical constraints of overall length of the tractor and trailer in their very specific sector. Initially Brit European didn’t think the Stralis would be suitable for their operational needs but after four days intensive testing onsite with Stuart Brunt, Fleet Engineer and Andy Evans,  Fleet Maintenance & Optimisation Manager, Brit European were convinced the Stralis 6 x 2 tractor units were the right vehicles for Brit European’s JCB High and Heavy division.  The vehicles are able to operate at 65 tonne GTW - STGO3 which makes them even more suitable for their requirements. Stuart Brunt had commented that overall length in particular is critical for vehicles serving in the High and Heavy division.

 The four vehicles were supplied through our Stoke site where they will be serviced & maintained on a full repair & maintenance contract. 

The Stralis AS440S46TXP tractor units use Iveco’s patented HI-SCR engine technology to meet emissions limits without the need for exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). HI-SCR increases productivity as it requires neither driver involvement nor downtime from active regeneration, meaning no fuel is utilised to burn particulates and no energy is lost to cool down exhaust gases. 

Safety items fitted as standard; EBS + BAS Electronic Braking System (EBS) integrating ABS (Antilock Braking System), ASR (Acceleration Slip Regulation) and EBL (Electronic Brake Limiter) functions, ESP – Electronic Stability Programme, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Hill holder, Iveco Efficiency Package including Engine oil thermal management Viscofun Behr Eco-roll.
