Circuit2Circuit races back to IVECO with New Daily Hi-Matic
Tuesday 29th October 2019
Covered vehicle transport specialist Circuit2Circuit has become one of the first operators in the UK to take delivery of IVECO's New Daily Hi-Matic choosing a 3.5-tonne panel van to transport a mix of classic, prestige and racing cars to circuits across the UK and Europe.
Supplied by Southampton-based IVECO dealer Pitter Commercials, the New Daily Hi-Matic (35S21V/P) is the second IVECO to join Circuit2Circuit's seven-strong commercial vehicle fleet, following the strong performance of a similar model bought in 2018.
Leigh Pettifer, Owner of Circuit2Circuit, says: 'We regularly tow specialist car-carrying trailers, and our previous vans could only pull two tonnes legally. This could be limiting when we also needed to transport spare tyres, components and toolboxes too, so we needed to rethink our options.
'The Daily stood out for being the only 3.5-tonne panel van on the market which also offered a 3.5- tonne towing capacity, giving us a gross train weight of a massive 7 tonnes - more than enough for even the most demanding jobs we handle. We've been so impressed with its performance, we went straight back to IVECO when the new model became available and ordered another.'
Commenting on the automatic gearbox, Pettifer adds: 'The overall driving experience is very important to us as we can travel hundreds of miles on certain jobs. IVECO's Hi-Matic gearbox complements the whole package perfectly; it completely masters the art of changing gears at an optimum time to suit both comfort and economy. It's the same transmission we have in our 4x4s which have done more than 300,000 miles, so we know there won't be any problems with reliability.'
Powered by a 3.0-litre F1C diesel engine delivering up to 210hp and 470Nm of torque - the biggest output in the Daily range - the vehicle has a 12m3 load space, offering a maximum internal load height of 1.9m and is built on a 3.52m long wheelbase.
Likely to remain in service until at least 2026, the Daily will clock up between 80,000 and 100,000 miles a year and has been specified with air conditioning, cruise control, heated side mirrors and rear air suspension.
Launched internationally in April 2019, the New Daily is the first vehicle in its segment to comply with Euro 6D/Temp emissions standards and stands out for its impressive fuel economy - achieved by its new engine Start&Stop system and exclusive Class A Super Eco Low Rolling Resistance tyres, specifically designed for the Daily range.
The New Daily will be serviced within the IVECO dealer network, which offers truck levels of aftersales care for light commercial fleets - including out-of-hours servicing. The new model also offers significant savings on maintenance, which is now up to 10 per cent lower on urban missions as a result of extended oil change intervals. Plus, IVECO has introduced a bigger oil sump on the New Daily, making it ideal for vehicles covering a high mileage, by extending service intervals to 60,000 km.
