Dynamic range of IVECO alternative fuel vehicles star at Road Transport Expo 2024
Friday 31st May 2024
IVECO returns to the growing Road Transport Expo with low-emission solutions for every mission. From all-electric vehicles to CO2-slashing CNG models, the IVECO stand (P1) will be a hive of activity with unique appearances from special vehicles.
Championing CNG on the IVECO stand will be an IVECO S-Way 460, a truck capable of running on biomethane and reducing its CO2 emissions by up to 95% versus an equivalent diesel model. Retaining strong performance and the driver-focused characteristics loved by IVECO S-Way operators, this CNG truck can dramatically reduce CO2 without compromising mission capability.
The eDaily with its unrivalled up to 3.5-tonne towing capacity will be highlighting its incredible mission diversity via several vehicle derivatives. Perfect for effortless unloading, the eDaily caged tipper, featuring a lightweight Brit-Tipp body, possesses an impressive 1,038kg payload. The eDaily 7.2-tonne box van possesses plenty of ‘outside of the box’ thinking with a recyclable body and range-boosting solar panels.
A very special truck on the stand that’s sure to have enthusiasts excited is an IVECO S-Way TurboStar. This one of 180 limited-run vehicles that hark back to the original TurboStar that found fame in the 1980s. Complete with iconic retro graphics and a host of unique features, this rare left-hand-drive 4x2 is set to be a show-stopper.
Visitors to the IVECO stand will also have the opportunity to interact with the IVECO eDaily Mobile Power Station. Continuing the lineage of impressive IVECO show vehicles, this eDaily is designed to highlight the option of ePTO onboard power - up to 50kW. Smart device charging, a fairground-inspired giant buzzwire game, and even a popcorn machine will be powered by ePTO. Additionally, guests have the chance to win a Ferrari driving experience by guessing how many balloons are in the spacious IVECO S-Way cab.
Beyond an impressive static roster of trucks and vans, the now legendary eDaily towing world record vehicle that pulled an incredible 153.58 tonnes will be performing a dynamic display of strength at RTX. Driven by one of the world’s strong men, Adam Bishop will use this durable EV to tow a 15-tonne IVECO X-Way Mixer - a truck considerably larger than the all-electric 3.5-tonne van.
Other highly capable IVECO vehicles on display include a rugged IVECO X-Way 8x4 tipper with AS cab and an efficient IVECO S-Way 490. RTX showgoers can also get behind the wheel of an eDaily box van or IVECO S-Way 490 in the Ride and Drive area.
The 2024 Road Transport Expo takes place 4-6th June at NAEC Stoneleigh.
